Anthony McNichol, Cargolux Country Manager
The 2012 award was presented to Cargolux Country Manager Anthony McNichol by Budapest Airport CEO Jost Lammers and Aviation Director Kam Jandu during a ceremony at Budapest Airport on 7 February 2013.
During this occasion, the airport handed out 10 awards; 9 of those were in the passenger category, while Cargolux received the sole cargo-related award.
Cargolux inaugurated regular 747 freighter flights to Budapest in October 2002 and has steadily increased its frequencies and presence at Budapest airport. With these flights, Cargolux connects Hong Kong to Budapest with onward connection to Luxembourg. The company has also switched its Hungarian air cargo services from the Boeing 747-400F to the new, advanced Boeing 747-8F that offers increased payloads, better economics and substantial environmental improvements. Budapest airport has recognized the Luxembourg-based airline for these developments with its development award ever since it was created.
‘Cargolux is proud to see its efforts and initiatives in Hungary honored once again by the Budapest airport authorities,’ said McNichol. ‘Budapest is an important stop on our routes between Asia and Europe and we are happy to receive the support of shippers and forwarders who benefit from our fast and efficient freighter services.’
The award event was attended by representatives from the Hungarian airline industry and included suppliers, forwarders and handling agents amongst others.
