Cargolux successfully launched Trans-Pacific services between Zhengzhou and Chicago
Cargolux Airlines has begun a twice-weekly Trans-Pacific service between the two cities in April, operated by the airlines advanced 747-8 freighters. At the Air Cargo Europe event in Munich, Cargolux today announced that loads on the first couple of flights have been better than anticipated.
“This new Trans-Pacific service from Zhengzhou is a milestone in the development of our Chinese operations and the cooperation with our partner HNCA,” says Dirk Reich, Cargolux President and CEO. “We are proud that our partnership is moving ahead so swiftly and successfully. Linking Zhengzhou to the Chicago market and beyond offers unique opportunities for shippers and manufacturers on both sides of the Pacific and we can happily say that the Cargolux service has been warmly welcomed by our customers in China and the US.”
The new services leave Zhengzhou every Tuesday and Friday at 1:00h and arrive in Chicago at 3:25h (all times local). The return flights leave Chicago at 5:25h and arrive in Zhengzhou at 8:40h. The Chicago services are expected to increase to four weekly roundtrips before the end of the year.
In China, Cargolux offers fast, scheduled road feeder services to 20 Chinese cities, linking Zhengzhou with major industrial and business centers.
Cargolux also operates seven weekly frequencies between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou.
