IEE presents its innovative sensing solutions for enhanced automotive safety and comfort at IAA International Motor Show 2015
Automotive safety sensing specialist IEE will be showcasing its innovative sensing solutions for increased automotive safety and comfort at this year’s International Motor Show (IAA), taking place from the 17th – 27th September in Frankfurt, Germany
IEE is pleased to be sharing its stand for the first time with its newly acquired cooperation partner, All Circuits, a leader in the Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) field.
A leading developer of intelligent sensing solutions, IEE will be presenting its exterior radar solution and its interior motion detector, as well NightGuard (the company’s night vision system), via on-screen displays.
Exterior radar
Using multi-functional radars based on an innovative 79GHz technology, IEE’s exterior radar solution provides a 360° surround (ultra) short-range detection. In addition to preventing minor damage to the vehicle, the innovative radar solution can also enable parking aid functions and low-speed autonomous driving.
The solution also supports other Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications, such as Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane Change Assist (LCA).
Interior motion detector
IEE’s interior motion detector uses radio technology to detect vehicle occupants based on their movements. The transmitter, which can be invisibly mounted behind the vehicle’s headliner, emits radio signals that are reflected by occupants or objects. Because an occupant moves, the signal he or she reflects is different from that of an inanimate object. This allows the interior motion detector to discriminate between a person and an object.
IEE’s interior motion detector is able to detect even minor movements of vehicle occupants. In fact, it is so sensitive that it can detect the breathing of sleeping babies.
NightGuard
NightGuard is a night vision system designed to help a driver detect pedestrians, cyclists or animals on the side of the road, or crossing from one side to the other at dusk, dawn, or at night.
NightGuard recognizes the thermal signature of living beings and, by applying a sophisticated computer vision algorithm, generates a warning for the driver while the car is at a safe distance – even when they are outside the range of the car’s headlights.
In addition to featuring some of IEE’s new products, the two companies will also be using the IAA to present ALL CIRCUITS to the German market. Existing IEE customers will have the opportunity to learn more about the company’s long-standing EMS partner and the services they offer.
More information about the products offered by IEE and ALL CIRCUITS is available at www.iee.lu or www.allcircuits.fr, or at the IAA on the joint booth with Automotive Saarland located in hall 4.0 at stand D27.
