Tigers fly Cargolux to Hanoi

en

Cargolux Airlines International S.A. has flown four tigers to Hanoi in support of an effort to ensure the survival of the endangered animals in Vietnam. The three female and one male animals belong to the species of Indochinese Tigers, known as H? ?ông D??ng in Vietnam, and only around 600 are currently alive in the wilderness of Southeast Asia. Due to decade-long conflicts, growing urbanization and expanding agriculture, their natural habit is rapidly decreasing and Indochinese tigers are officially recognized as a distinct subspecies since 1968.

The four animals that Cargolux has flown will spend their lives in the safety of Hanoi Zoo which was eager to welcome them as one of Vietnam’s national animals. Indochinese tigers are also an increasingly rare sight in zoos around the world as less than 20 are registered in captivity worldwide.

Relying on Cargolux proven expertise in the frame of its CV Alive product range, the tigers were transported from their origin in the Czech Republic to Luxembourg and onwards to Hanoi on a Cargolux 747 freighter. Cargolux’s aircraft offer an ideal conditioned environment for the animals, thanks to ventilation and temperature control systems, including state-of-the-art HVAC systems, that duplicate any natural environment from 4?C to 29?C.

With CV Alive, Cargolux guarantees specialized care by qualified staff that work to high professional standards to safeguard the welfare of all animals Cargolux carries. The tigers travelled in the comfort and security they deserved in full compliance with the IATA Live Animal Regulations and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.

Cargolux is proud to be involved in projects like these where it can contribute to maintaining a sustainable environment across the globe.
