Packet Clearing House joins LU-CIX as new Technical Partner
LU-CIX ASBL, the Luxembourg Internet Exchange Point, is glad to welcome Packet Clearing House (PCH) as a new technical partner.
PCH is the international organization responsible for providing operational support and security to critical Internet infrastructure, including Internet exchange points and the core of the domain name system (DNS). Over the past twenty years, PCH has helped build more than 150 IXPs, and has provided assistance of some sort to more than half of all the world’s IXPs. PCH also maintains the global directory of IXPs, and publishes statistics about their use and growth.
DNS, an essential core infrastructure element of the Internet closer to our members
“Making the Internet faster and more resilient for our members is among the core missions of LU-CIX. We are very happy to count PCH among our connected networks, as they bring an essential core infrastructure element of the Internet closer to our members: DNS. With their global Anycast DNS service, which currently hosts 117 ccTLDs and 50 gTLDs (among which you can find for example the DNS zones .lu, .fr), PCH strives to provide the Internet-using public with the quickest, most resilient DNS user-experience." stated Michel Lanners, CIO at LU-CIX Management G.I.E.
“We are excited to improve DNS resolution in the heart of Europe by bringing clusters of name servers to Luxembourg with the support of LUC-IX” said Gael Hernandez, Director of Edge Network Strategy and Planning at PCH. “Besides authoritative DNS, we also host Quad9, an open DNS recursive service for free security and high privacy.” stated Mr. Hernandez.
