ING will build its future headquarters at Place de la Gare!
During a press conference that took place this Wednesday 30th January at ING Luxembourg’s current headquarters, Rik Vandenberghe announced that ING had chosen the location of its future headquarters in Luxembourg-Ville: “Place de la Gare”.
Through this building, we want to emphasize our willingness to strengthen ING’s local roots in the Grand-duchy!

ING, international group, local bank
“While ING Group is an international institution present in more than 40 countries, it is also very attached to the local roots of its entities worldwide. Of course, this also applies to its Luxembourg branch”, explained Rik Vandenberghe. Currently, ING Luxembourg occupies 4 central buildings in Luxembourg Ville: two on the “Cloche d’Or” site and two on the “route d’Esch”. This situation causes many trips and does not reflect ING’s strategy and current image anymore!
Orange Bricks, a means for ING to realise its strategy!
End 2010, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary in the Grand-duchy, ING announced the launch of its project “Orange Bricks “. The objective was to centralize all of the Bank’s activities within one symbolic building, enabling the Bank to improve its service to customers, its accessibility and visibility. “Through this building, we want to emphasize our willingness to strengthen ING’s local roots in the Grand-duchy!”, added Rik Vandenberghe.
A highly visible and accessible location!
By selecting Place de la Gare, and more specifically the location of the current Galerie Kons, ING could not have chosen a more visible and accessible site! The building of the new headquarters will start in 2014 and should end in 2016. Soon after, the entire Bank’s staff (except branches) will have moved into the new building which will offer an exceptional accessibility to both its clients and its employees!
