Number of Luxair Luxembourg Airlines passengers rose 10% in Q1 2015
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines remained on a strong growth track in the first quarter of 2015 with an overall 10% increase of the number of transported passengers.
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines did well in the first quarter of 2015. We are all the more pleased with this progression of our passenger figures as this performance was achieved against the backdrop of a rather sluggish European economy. We are confident that we will be able to maintain this growth course through 2015
Adrien Ney, CEO of LuxairGroup
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines carried 246,189 passengers in January-March 2015, against 223,865 during the same period of 2014. This follows the strong figures recorded by LuxairGroup’s airline in 2014: last year, Luxair Luxembourg Airline carried 1.087,246 passengers, a 19% increase over 2013.
Benoît Berger, head of Luxair Luxembourg Airlines’ sales and revenue management, commented: “The good performance of Luxair Luxembourg Airlines in the first quarter comes as proof that our strategy, which combines an extended offering of our Primo entry price tickets with a significant increase of our capacity, is paying off”. Luxair Luxembourg Airlines’ capacity grew 15% in 2014 and 12% in the first quarter of 2015. Rome, Madrid, Nice, Barcelona and Munich are now operated with Boeings, whereas a seventh daily flight to London-City and two flights per week to Dublin and Stockholm have been added to the schedule.
Adrien Ney, CEO of LuxairGroup, added: “Luxair Luxembourg Airlines did well in the first quarter of 2015. We are all the more pleased with this progression of our passenger figures as this performance was achieved against the backdrop of a rather sluggish European economy. We are confident that we will be able to maintain this growth course through 2015”.
