Cargolux flies major art shipment
Cargolux Airlines International S.A. has shipped around 190 tons of artworks from New York, Los Angeles and Chicago to Basle, Switzerland for Dietl International a division Rock It Cargo LLC, New York with the coordination of Hasenkamp Luxembourg, both specialized in the transport of artworks
Spread over six flights, the precious cargo was destined for the Art Basel 2015 Expo, that stages the world's premier modern and contemporary art show from 18 to 21 June 2015. With contributions from the world’s leading galleries, the annual exhibition includes the highest-quality paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, videos and more.
Around 20 trucks organized by Cargolux were used to bring the artworks from Luxembourg to the exhibition halls at Messe Basel. Art Basel 2015 is expected to draw over 90,000 visitors. 284 galleries from 33 countries will show their works on over 31,000 m2 of exhibition space.
The shipper took advantage of Cargolux’s newly launched CV Precious product that offers detailed care and individual expert treatment for the shipments of art and precious goods, backed with 45 years of unrivalled experience in air cargo.
