New and unlimited access to research publications for SMEs and individuals, announced by MyScienceWork and DeepDyve
MyScienceWork, start-up headquartered in Luxembourg and Silicon Valley, and DeepDyve, re-inventing how science is disseminated, announce a partnership to integrate DeepDyve’s article rental service into the MyScienceWork global scientific platform.
Millions of people are regularly frustrated when landing on a research article with an expensive paywall. Today, MyScienceWork and DeepDyve are pleased to announce a partnership to give MyScienceWork’s users seamless and affordable access to DeepDyve’s database of 12M scientific and scholarly articles through its innovative online rental service.
“MyScienceWork provides services for everyone to access and share research,” explains Virginie Simon, MyScienceWork CEO and co-founder. “We are excited to introduce DeepDyve’s article rental service for millions of publications unavailable in open access. The ability to access them via the MyScienceWork platform will make all these articles easily accessible for SMEs and individuals not affiliated with an academic library. Many scientists and non-scientists already use our platforms on a daily basis to gain research knowledge. This partnership enhances their access to research.”
Today, MyScienceWork offers access to more than 30 million research publications from open access resources and publisher databases, and the company’s institutional product Polaris, to a community of 500,000 members worldwide. Likewise, DeepDyve offers affordable access to over 12 million scholarly and scientific articles across 10,000 peer-reviewed journals, allowing users to rent and read full-text articles instantly via their browser, and all for a low monthly or annual subscription.
“The publications in our database come from thousands of leading scholarly journals from Elsevier, Springer-Nature, Oxford University Press, Wiley-Blackwell and more,” says William Park, DeepDyve CEO. “Since 78% of our visitors come from small to mid-sized enterprises (SME’s), DeepDyve is an essential resource for these scientists, engineers, and information professionals. With DeepDyve, users can gain unlimited access to authoritative research for an affordable price.”
MyScienceWork users will continue to be able to search though millions of open access articles and publisher abstracts. Through this partnership, DeepDyve rental buttons will now appear on MyScienceWork alongside non-OA articles, allowing users to seamlessly access DeepDyve’s vast repository of journal articles. For just $40/month or $360/year, DeepDyve subscribers have instant access to read millions of full-text articles from thousands of journals directly from their browser.
