A new Bombardier Q400 to reinforce the Luxair fleet
The LuxairGroup Board of Directors approved the LuxairGroup Executive Committee’s proposal to purchase an additional plane for the Luxair Luxembourg Airlines fleet, at the meeting held on Friday 9 December 2016
A new Q400 NextGen Bombardier will therefore be ordered from the Canadian Bombardier Commercial Aircraft manufacturer, which should be in service by October 2017. The Luxair fleet will then total 11 Bombardier Q400, 2 Boeing 737-700 and 4 Boeing 737-800.
Due to extra passenger capacity, Luxair Luxembourg Airlines will be able to extend its destinations network and optimize flight frequencies by providing a wider and more elaborate range of services to its customers.
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines is not only accommodating increasing market demand, but it is also consolidating its position as the main contributor to Luxembourg Airport’s growth, despite intensified competition inter alia from low-cost airlines.
