Third edition of PwC Cybersecurity Day

Four clear trends are dominating the cybersecurity reality. The growth in digital devices is driving risk management. Business leaders see new risks tied to emerging technologies. Cyber threats to the integrity of data are a rising concern and current employees remain the top source of security incidents.

For this year’s PwC Cybersecurity Day, which falls within the Luxembourg Cybersecurity Week, the focus will be on why businesses are vulnerable to cyber disruptions and how leaders who participate at the event can help their organisations build resilience to sustain operations and boost economic performance. It is imperative that in the post GDPR world we protect data privacy and revitalise trust.

“Cybersecurity is constantly evolving to keep pace with the advance of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning and cloud technology etc. This means that companies require a cybersecurity strategy that goes hand in hand with their digital transformation. This is the key to its success and reputation as well as its attractiveness and this will also have to be a continuing evolution which is why there is so much added value in events like a dedicated Cybersecurity Day,” says Vincent Villers, partner and Cybersecurity Leader at PwC Luxembourg.

Network and build strategic partnerships with the best in the business

For the third time in Luxembourg, the PwC Cybersecurity Day will bring together influential players from the cyber-industry. Business leaders, private and public decision-makers, investors or cybersecurity specialists will endeavour, through leading keynotes, interactive workshops or business meetings, to strengthen the fight against cybercrime and to find efficient solutions to current and future challenges from a national, European and international perspective.

This year, we have organised the events into two distinct parts. The entire day will be dedicated to CISOs with technical updates and cybersecurity solutions while in the afternoon there will be a dedicated session for CISOs and CEOs with a broader approach to cybersecurity.

“This year, we are pleased to welcome what we consider a dazzling array of distinguished speakers from all over the world, representing a rich panel of thought leaders, who will bring a human and social dimension to the everyday cybersecurity challenge we are all undergoing,” says Vincent Villers.

Hot topics will include such items as the latest trends in cyberattacks: technology watch from PwC Luxembourg’s Ethical Hackers, Maxime Clementz - Ethical hacker & Cybersecurity Manager, PwC Luxembourg and Vladimir Kolimaga - Cybersecurity & Forensic Senior Advisor, PwC Luxembourg and the Evolution of cybersecurity: towards 21st century risk management, Guy-Philippe Goldstein - Lecturer, Ecole de Guerre Economique (Paris) and Strategic Advisor, Expon Capital. In the afternoon more topics will be covered including key findings from the "Out of the shadows: CISO in the spotlight!" survey followed by an open discussion with Rodolphe Mans - President, Collège des Professionnels de la Sécurité et de l'Information (CPSI) and Maxime Pallez - Cybersecurity Manager, PwC Luxembourg. Vulnerability in the infrastructure "If a country is being hacked” is a topic that will be handled by Richard Oehme - Cybersecurity and Critical infrastructure Protection Director, PwC Sweden. These are just a few of the speakers who will interact with prime Luxembourg leaders ready to tackle cybersecurity issues in an increasingly digitised national economy.

There will be six breakout sessions, including: NIS Directive, The Hacking Experience - the first interactive demonstration where the hacker is “you”, Leveraging the power of AI to reshape data privacy within organisations, Smart Identity and Biometrics, Crisis management and BCM regulatory review and a live Crisis Management exercise plus an opportunity to meet the owners of the eight selected next-generation solution owners.

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of the event will be the afternoon keynote by Dr Jessica Barker.  Dr. Barker is a world-reknowned leader in the human nature of cybersecurity and a winner of the Tech Women 50 Awards as well as named one of the top 20 most influential women in cyber security in the UK in 2017.

Focus on next-gen solutions: eight top companies compete

One of the agenda’s highlights will be the pitch competition. Eight top companies – CounterCraft, CybeReady, Detectify, Hacknowledge, Jemmic, NormShield, Sixgill and Venafi – will present how they meet cybersecurity challenges head-on with next-generation solutions.
