DataThings celebrates its third anniversary
On January 16th 2020, DataThings, a spin-off of the SnT/University of Luxembourg specialized in machine learning and software engineering, proudly celebrated its three years of existence. Made in Luxembourg, DataThings provides data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to a wide range of industries to improve their daily operational decision-making.
The first three years of DataThings have been highlighted by the improvement of its core technology GreyCat and thanks to its first clients, DataThings has been able to validate its technology in various fields of application such as Steel Industry, Energy (smart grid), material quality but also in the financial sector. This validation has enabled the renewal of contracts with existing customers (Paul Wurth, Cebi, and Creos for instance) hence proving the positive impact of such technology on their operational processes. Existing and new customers have brought DataThings with the means to scale-up by onboarding new expert employees in the team. DataThings‘ presence is now also international with their participation to H2020 European projects like bIoTope with Lyon Metropole in France, or their public tender awarded by Rennes Metropole.
Moreover, DataThings keeps strong bonds with the academic and public sectors by collaborating and supporting several projects like rain forecasting based on satellite data and, more recently, by starting a new collaboration with the FNR (Fond national de la recherche) in the field of computer vision.
This substantial growth in the first years could not be achieved without the help of its precious partners, valued customers and Paul Wurth InCub. Thanks to their support, DataThings feels confident about further developing its activities in a technological field which brings value to the Luxembourgish ecosystem and abroad.
