Guest Speaker: Alfred Steinherr
Alfred graduated from Université de Lausanne, McMaster University (M.A., economics) and George Washington University (M.S., mathematics). He received Ph.D. from Cornell University and a honorary doctorate from the Université de Nancy, France.
Previously served in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund in Washington and as Economic Advisor to the Commission of the EU. Worked in EIB and was head of macroeconomics at the Deutsche Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung in Berlin and as Rector/Professor of Economics at the University of Bolzano, Italy.
Dr. Alfred Steinherr is an author of the extensive number of publictions on economic and financial subjects. His most recent books are “Economic Transition in Central and Eastern Europe: Planting the Seeds” (Cambridge University Press) and “Derivatives: The Wild Beast of Finance” (Wiley). He is also the co-author of “Macroéconomie” (Pearson Education, Paris). For eight years Alfred was advisor to the government of Kazakhstan and served as advisor to the United Arab Emirates together with Nobel Laureate, Professor Robert A. Mundell, and now serves on several boards of academic and financial institutions.
