Apex Group appointed by Canada’s largest digital asset fund manager
Apex Group Ltd. (“Apex” or “The Group”), a global financial services provider, today announces its appointment by 3iQ Digital Asset Management (“3iQ”), Canada’s largest digital asset investment fund manager that offers investors convenient and familiar investment products to gain exposure to digital assets.
Founded in 2012, 3iQ is Canada’s largest digital asset investment fund manager with more than CAD$1.8 billion in assets under management (as at June 3, 2022). 3iQ continues to lead the sector, having been the first Canadian investment fund manager to offer a public bitcoin investment fund.
New funds, 3iQ CoinShares Bitcoin Feeder ETF and 3iQ CoinShares Ether Feeder ETF, have been listed on Cboe Australia. These products grant investors with exposure to respective cryptocurrencies via units purchased on 3iQ’s existing ETFs listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Apex will provide 3iQ with Fund Administration, Listed Transfer Agency and Custody services to these Australia-listed ETF structures as part of Apex’s single-source solution. This new partnership allows 3iQ to benefit from Apex’s extensive experience of servicing ETFs and best-in-class technologies to enhance its operating model and ensure full compliance.
This appointment is yet further evidence of Apex’s innovative architecture and adaptable service model, enabling the Group to provide a single-source solution to managers who are pioneering new structures and in this fast-evolving area of financial services.
Nick Bradford, Head of Business Development, Oceania at Apex Group comments: “3iQ has been at the forefront of the digital assets investing revolution, as the first regulated Digital Asset Investment Fund Manager in Canada, and now bringing new and innovative fund structures and products to market in Australia. We are delighted to be supporting the 3iQ team with our single-source solution which is well-equipped to meet the unique needs of listed digital asset managers.”
Fred Pye, CEO, 3iQ further adds: “We are pleased to be partnering with the Apex team, who share our forward-looking approach and have embraced the service requirements of new products and asset types. Apex’s single-source service model has demonstrated the adaptability and efficiency we require to operate in the world of digital currency markets. By working with Apex, we are able to focus on being the first to provide investors with convenient and familiar investment products which give them exposure to digital assets.”
