On this occasion, we look back on two successful decades and nearly 700 projects in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. Starting today, we will be reporting on various events, activities and publications related to our fields of activity and focus topics for 20 weeks of the year. In this way, we would like to thank our clients, partners and our team for their support over the past 20 years and at the same time set impulses for a sustainable future – "create a world we want to live in".

Join us on our journey, which started in 2003 with a small team. Today, 20 years later, the team has grown to over 100 employees at the Luxembourg location. In the process, the company has also gained expertise, expanded its fields of activity and is accompanying major projects such as, for example, currently the construction of the new headquarters of the European Commission Jean Monnet 2 at Kirchberg, the planned new construction of the hospital "Nouveau Bâtiment CHL Centre" and the expansion of the Coque National Sports & Cultural Center.

New topics for the future

The progressive growth of Drees & Sommer Luxembourg is led by three Managing Directors and concurrent Associate Partners of the group, who cover different areas of the company.

Maximilien Ast started as a project manager at the Luxembourg office in 2004. He is responsible for the Luxembourg office since eleven years. His focus is on consulting. "The anniversary gives us an opportunity to look back on the last 20 years and at the same time take a look into the future," said Maximilien Ast. "Megatrends such as digitalisation, sustainability and urbanisation are challenging traditional business models. At the same time, new opportunities are emerging. Future-oriented consulting means taking an all-round view right from the start and evaluating individual aspects in complex contexts. Digital, sustainable, innovative and economical. And this is how we will continue to support our clients as partners in the future."

Lothar Diederich is Head of Engineering since 2014. He focuses on data center design, technical project management, facility management, building automation, energy-efficient construction and digitalisation. "As a result of the digital transformation, our customers' requirements are evolving rapidly", said Lothar Diederich. "Within the next ten years, we can expect completely new challenges and requirements in the construction and real estate world. This, in turn, will require a redefinition of the working environment and the tasks to be done."

Responsible for project management and infrastructural consulting, Heiko Butter completes the management. "Innovation and sustainability have always been a substantial part of the Drees & Sommer DNA," said Heiko Butter. "In order to digitise our business models, we use targeted innovations that also lead to completely new areas of business. Our innovation center, the Creators innovation ecosystem and the Drees & Sommer Start-up hub support this continuous improvement process. Our clients and we benefit from the results."
