At its first general assembly, held in Paris last Thursday, EuroCloud Europe decided to re-establish its headquarters in Luxembourg as part of an ambitious plan to expand and strengthen its activities. The federal organization of all 21 national EuroCloud associations in Europe is now operating from the new location thanks to the active support of the Luxembourg Ministry of State, Media and Communications Department, the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade and Fedil-Business Federation Luxembourg.

"Luxembourg is very well situated in the ICT and cloud environment. We have access to location and network benefits that will take forward our work on behalf of the cloud services industry in Europe", said Bernd Becker, the newly elected President of EuroCloud Europe at last week’s meeting.

Since its inception in Paris in 2010, EuroCloud Europe has held its annual member Congresses in Luxembourg, It will now expand its work from the new headquarters, implementing growth plans initiated by the executive board elected last week. It was agreed that companies in the European market that are already members in one of the local EuroCloud organizations will become eligible for special benefits if they sign up as a "Supporting Member" of EuroCloud Europe.

The new Executive Board of EuroCloud Europe consists of Bernd Becker (President, DE) and six Vice Presidents: Amal Choury (LU), Tobias Höllwarth (AT), Phil Wainewright (UK), Paulo Calçada (PT), Dalibor Baškov? (SI ) and Michael Abrahamsson (SE). The new Managing Director is Andreas Weiss.

The founder and former president of EuroCloud Europe, Pierre-José Billotte, was unanimously elected as Honorary President and will continue to play an active role for France within EuroCloud Europe.
