Werner De Laet appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orange Luxembourg
Werner De Laet has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orange Luxembourg. Succeeding Patrick Ittah who left the company 15th January, he will head the company starting 2nd May.

It was an easy decision to take over the leadership to help this team in realizing its ambitions and re-enforce the company’s innovating image in the Luxembourg telecommunication market

Already CEO ad interim since January 2013, he stated: “When I took over this temporary responsibility, it didn’t take me long to feel amazed of the entrepreneurial spirit among the management team and the 150 employees. It was an easy decision to take over the leadership to help this team in realizing its ambitions and re-enforce the company’s innovating image in the Luxembourg telecommunication market.”
“It was clear for the board of directors of the Mobistar group that Werner was the right candidate to lead Orange Luxembourg and to assure it remains one of the growth poles of the overall Mobistar strategy. It is also the best thing he could do for his personal development”, said Jean Marc Harion, CEO of the Mobistar group and president of the board of directors of Orange Luxembourg.
Werner De Laet will continue his double role until the next General Assembly of shareholders takes place on 2nd May, 2013: until that date he will remain Chief Financial Officer of the Mobistar group and CEO ad interim of Orange Luxembourg. The selection process for his successor as Chief Financial Officer of the Mobistar group has been initated. Werner De Laet will continue to be part of the Executive Committee of the Mobistar group.
Werner De Laet is a diplomed “Ingénieur commercial” of Solvay School of Management in Brussels and holds an MBA of Management Vlerick School in Gent. He started his career with Arthur Andersen, where he gathered experience in the financial controlling of companies, particularly in the field of telecommunications.
Before joining Mobistar 15 years ago, he was in charge of IT and financial controlling of SIPEF, an agribusiness group. Since 2006 Werner De Laet is CFO of the Belgian-Luxembourgish group. He succeeded in safeguarding shareholder value, without loosing focus on long term and strategic goals. He showed a transparent, reliable and committed leadership, including close contact with institutions, partners and the financial community.
