In her role and together with the existing teams, Virginie will focus on further developing the communication activities of the firm internally and externally, drawing on her experience as former Head of Corporate Communication & Relations at ING Bank in Brussels. At ING, she was responsible for a team of 50 people in charge, amongst others, of the external and internal communication of the bank, as well as for corporate sponsoring, events and Corporate Social Responsibility.

During her career at ING of more than 20 years and previous to her activities in the communication field, Virginie occupied several senior positions within ING Belgium and the Netherlands in the areas of commercial and wholesale banking with worldwide responsibilities. This allowed her not only to gain extensive knowledge of the banking business but also in client relationship, cross cultural people management and project management.

Furthermore, Virginie is already very familiar with Luxembourg through her husband Rik Vandenberghe, former CEO of ING Luxembourg, who recently was appointed as CEO of ING Belgium.
