This recreational event will take place for the third time on the streets and on the site of P&T in Luxembourg-Gasperich next Sunday 22 September 2013, from 11:00 to 17:00.

Organised by the Section Cyclisme de l’Amicale des P&T together with the City of Luxembourg, the event once again reflects the city's commitment to recreational sports, competition and the well-being of its citizens.

6 Stonne Vëlo mat der Post an der Stad is a bicycle relay race with teams of up to six cyclists. During the six-hour event, each team must be represented by one team member on the 3 km circuit which passes by the rue Robert Stumper, rue Jean Piret, rue Guillaume J. Kroll, rue Henri M. Schnadt, rue Emile Bian and route d’Esch. Teams will be ranked according to their category. These include the following 4 categories: "Open: amateurs and professionals", "Inter-company: corporate" (in which the City of Luxembourg will participate with several mixed teams), “Ladies” and "Youth teams” (age 12-18). The prize-giving ceremony will take place at 18:00, attended by representatives of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg and P&T.

Over the course of the day, the Service des sports de la Ville de Luxembourg (Luxembourg City Sports Service) will organise interactive sports entertainment for spectators at the event, such as a bicycle obstacle course for children, Tae Bo and fitness dance ateliers and a "Drums alive" show. These events will allow young and old to discover the range of sports activities that Sports pour tous (Sports for all) has to offer. These activities are all free and there is no need to sign up in advance.

The organisers of the 6 Stonne Vëlo mat der Post an der Stad support the Luxembourg Red Cross: all registration fees for the inter-company challenge (10€ per person registered in each team) will go to the Luxembourg Red Cross Holiday Camps, which offer underprivileged children the chance to stay at a holiday camp.

With regard to the city bus lines, the No. 18 bus will be rerouted and the stops Plantin, Cloche d’Or and Scharfen Eck will not be served.
