Witnessed by the Luxembourg Minister for National Education and Vocational Training, Mrs Delvaux-Stehres, the Chinese Ambassador Mr. XianQi Zeng, the representatives of both CLCCL and SHNU signed the quality cooperation agreement in the “Ministère de l’Education nationale et de la Formation professionnelle”

The agreement contains the following benefits for CLCCL:

• Quality assurance from a top Chinese University
• Training of CLCCL’s faculty staff
• Co-Authoring of teaching material for secondary schools and business Chinese classes
• Scholarship grants for CLCCL students to Shanghai Normal University.

Centre de Langue et de Culture Chinoises du Luxembourg is a non profit organisation. CLCCL has its own learning programme, besides the regular Chinese courses for students; it also offers Chinese language training for companies (Tailor-made courses) and course design for Luxembourgish high-schools. With support from Shanghai Normal University, CLCCL has set up a two week exchange programme for students and teachers between Luxembourg and China. There are two partner schools in China hosting the exchange programme. 25 teachers and students attended the exchange programme in April this year. Special culture courses, like Kung-fu, Calligraphy, etc., impressed the Luxembourg participants.

Shanghai Normal University was founded in 1954 as a pedagogical University. But now it has about 40,000 students and is a key local university with comprehensive disciplines covering humanities, social sciences, natural & applied science and engineering. The university is well geared to the economic and cultural development of Shanghai as an international metropolis. It has salient features in teacher training and it has become an important base to cultivate high-quality talents with an innovative spirit and practical abilities.
