"With the acquisition, CERATIZIT is now the Number One producer of drawing tools in Europe," says Josef Lämmle, Managing Director of CERATIZIT Italia. The acquired volume will allow an optimal distribution of fixed costs and will create production synergies. "The consolidation of the Italian market not only makes us a full range provider, but also makes us much more competitive throughout Europe," adds Lämmle.
Move will be completed by early January
All 13 VAN-Dies employees, as well as all machinery and equipment, should be moved to the CERATIZIT location in Alserio by early January at the latest. The new colleagues already had the opportunity to get to know their new employer during a guided tour of the production site. The owner of VAN-Dies, Albino Vanossi, describes the mood as very positive. "My employees are proud that they will be working for a modern, global company in the future, and are very interested in the opportunities for development that will open up for them here."
More capacity for existing and new customers
Both existing customers and new business partners will be able to benefit from the takeover by CERATIZIT, explains Josef Lämmle: "Not only we will maintain the high level of flexibility in terms of delivery, service and variety of workpiece geometries, but we will expand this even further." In order to meet the demands in terms of logistics and production capacity, the production hall in Alserio will be expanded by the end of December 2014, and the layout will be adapted.
Pioneering work by VAN-Dies
The owner-operated VAN-Dies company has been supplying drawing tools for pipes, profiles and wire manufacturing since 1999. 85% of the turnover derives from Italy alone. The owner, Albino Vanossi is known throughout Europe for his pioneering work in the field of tungsten carbide tools for forming technology over the past 57 years.
Due to his advanced age, Mr. Vanossi decided to sell his company in 2014. "It is important to me to guarantee continuity and reliability in the supply of drawing tools for our long-term customers and business partners", explains the owner. "Above all, however, it is especially important to me that the future of my employees is secured."
