Today, the patient can choose from 60.000 available appointments slots on offer from over 150 practitioners covering a wide range of specialties. “ Two thirds of the patients using DOCTENA do see a doctor within a week. Our apps are particularly appreciated by the international community as you can search the doctors by the language spoken” says Patrick Kersten, founder and CEO. “Booking a medical visit is very easy. The patient can choose his favourite timeslot on his smartphone or on the website.”

Following on its success in Luxembourg, the team did launch a second website in Brussels during the summer of 2014. Building on this experience, a new subsidiary has been created in the Netherlands in preparation of the expansion of operations to Amsterdam.

To accelerate its growth, DOCTENA has proceeded to a capital increase from private investors. The board has been reinforced with the presence of Xavier Buck, Internet expert and serial entrepreneur, and Pietro Longo, expert in corporate governance, to support the international development of the company.

The Ministry of Economics of Luxembourg has also been supportive of the company qualifying it for the ‘Young Innovative Company’ program. Doctena is expecting to double the staff employed in Luxembourg by end of the year.
