Two cheques were presented to the SOS Kannerduerf Mersch at the BGL BNP Paribas head office on 25 February 2016. In replacement for end-of-year gifts, the Business Banking and Corporate Investment Banking (Treasury) departments decided to support the SOS Kannerduerf Lëtzebuerg organisation with a shared donation. In the presence of representatives from both departments, two cheques for a total value of €10,000 were presented to the heads of the organisation.

SOS Kannerduerf Mersch takes in children, together and as part of a family lifestyle, who cannot live with their parents. Orphans, abandoned children and those separated from their parents owing to serious family reasons are entrusted to an SOS mother or father who raises them until they become independent. The aim is to provide them with the stable affective and educational environment essential to their development, either as part of an SOS family or in an SOS home.

This initiative shows once again how BGL BNP Paribas is making good on its commitment to be a responsible bank and illustrates its active participation in community actions.
