APATEQ receives Fedil Innovation Award
Clean-tech company APATEQ received the 2016 Innovation Award in the Category “Start-up” from the Business Federation Luxembourg Fedil. The biennially held event took place at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce on December 6th with Mr. Nicolas Buck, Fedil President presenting the awards to the winners.
APATEQ engineers and manufactures high-efficiency water and wastewater treatment systems based on unique and innovative process technologies. The company won the Start-up Innovation Award for its green and cost-efficient scrub water treatment system “MarinePaq”, which treats wastewater resulting from the cleaning of the exhaust gases from large ships. The newly developed system has already been successfully marketed. A first MarinePaq has been sold to the Danish shipping company Scandlines Aps. Installed at the port of Gedser (DK), the containerized MarinePaq treats scrub water from the Scandlines’ ferries. Meeting the strictest international legislation, the system produces an effluent so clean that it can be discharged into the open sea, costal area and harbour.
“Innovation is the driving force behind the industry. And since innovation is above all a matter of creativity, it about doing everything to reserve a fertile soil for this”, stated Fedil President Nicolas Buck.
“The Fedil Innovation Award is an indicator for true innovation. Previous winners are leading pioneers in their respective business sectors. The fact that the awards program only takes place every two years emphasizes its exclusiveness”, said APATEQ CEO Bogdan Serban. “The MarinePaq is our response to a real and actual market need and the result of a thorough R&D. We are delighted with the positive feedback from customers and institutions such as the Fedil who selected us as one of this year winners.”
Besides APATEQ, winners of the 2016 Fedil Innovation Award are Tarkett, ArcelorMittal, Husky and IEE.
