Jean-Marc Ueberecken (Managing Partner, Arendt & Medernach), Marie-Hélène Trouillez (Pour un Sourire d'Enfant asbl), Anne Goeres (Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner) and Philippe Dupont (Founding Partner, Arendt & Medernach).

Jean-Marc Ueberecken and Philippe Dupont handed over cheques for 15,000 € to each of these organisations on 11th July.

The funds donated to these associations come from registration fees for the Arendt Financial Law Forum, one of the major annual meetings organised by the law firm Arendt & Medernach. This event brings together legal experts and other decision-makers in the financial sector to inform them about legal, regulatory and tax developments which may have an impact on their businesses.

The association "Pour un Sourire d'Enfant a.s.b.l." supports children living in extreme poverty in Cambodia with food and material assistance, housing and schooling. A cheque was given to its representative, Mrs Marie-Hélène Trouillez. This year, the funds will be used to support classes in the Khmer language and mathematics during the two-month holiday break - September and October 2017 - for 770 children at risk in de Phnom-Penh. This support will help combat school dropout.

"Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner" works to help children suffering from cancer or a rare life-threatening disease. Its aims include supporting the families concerned, raising awareness of childhood cancer and supporting paediatric cancer research. A cheque was handed over to Mrs Anne Goeres for the foundation. This year, the funds will mostly be used to finance the awareness and solidarity campaign “LËTZ GO GOLD” which will be launched in September 2017. The aim is to fulfil one of the major objectives of the foundation by bringing childhood cancer to the attention of the public, and offering anyone who feels moved by this cause the opportunity to get involved in specific activities (illumination of buildings in Luxembourg, wearing a golden ribbon, flashmob, concert, etc.).

Support for these actions demonstrates Arendt & Medernach’s strong long-term commitment to health and access to equality of opportunity for all children.
