Teqball, a new sport expanding worldwide
Puyol, Karembeu, Gallas, Ricardo, Gomes, Pirès, Gullit, Langers, and Sabrosa are TEQ!
An exceptional event took place in the Grand Duchy this weekend with superstars Carles Puyol, Robert Pirès, Simão Sabrosa, William Gallas, Ruud Gullit, Christian Karembeu, Roby Langers, Ricardo and Nuno Gomes. The Luxembourgish Minister of Sports, Romain Schneider, opened the event, which is also part of the European Week of Sport (#Beactive).
All these brilliant players were brought together thanks to the call of a new sport hosted in Luxembourg, Teqball. The very first Teqball All Stars Cup took place at the Center Atert in Bertrange with a series of activities: singles and doubles Teqball matches (Luxembourg vs Portugal, then Hungary vs Romania), Teqvolley, a futsal game, and a celebrity Teqball tournament.
"After Lothar Matthäus two years ago, Ronaldinho last year and Christian Karembeu at the beginning of this year, we are delighted to welcome other big names of football to represent this new sport, Teqball", explained György Gattyán, Founder of Docler Holding, Cofounder of Teqball and Vice-President of FITEQ.
FITEQ created to accelerate global distribution.
FITEQ, the International Federation of Teqball, was founded 6 months ago. Its French counterpart followed closely after and Luxembourg is the next country to join the race.
"Teqball stands out as a perfect mix of agility and high performance. Receiving the support of such people is yet another milestone in the expansion of this new sport", noted Gábor Borsányi, Co-Founder of Teqball and President of FITEQ.
These announcements went hand in hand with an increase of human resources in order to rapidly hasten the creation of clubs and championships around the world. The growing popularity of the sport in Europe and Latin America is expected to continue and eventually expand into Asian and North American countries in 2019.
Teqball All Stars Cup - Luxembourg
The aim of the organization of the Teqball All Stars Cup event in Luxembourg is to lift Teqball into public knowledge and increase everyone’s awareness about this new sport. One of the highlights of this day was the rematch of the final match between Romania and Hungary.
"Teqball is an innovative project and we are proud to launch this sport on a global level. We have great ambassadors who supported us and the organization of the first Teqball World Cup in Budapest and a successful Teqball All Stars Cup in Luxembourg is only one more step in our strategy of expansion", concluded Viktor Huszár, Co-Founder and CEO of Teqball.
A special thanks to Dimension Data, EY, Datacenter.eu, Docler Holding, EFG Private Banking, Farvest, Commune of Bertrange and Sparta Bertrange for their support.
