Managers of the BNP Paribas Group in Luxembourg recently presented a cheque for EUR 35,353 to representatives of ELA Luxembourg, an organisation that supports research into leukodystrophies.

This was made possible thanks to a group challenge undertaken by the staff of BNP Paribas in Luxembourg during the Health Day that was organized by the Group on 28 September 2017. The “Mets tes Baskets” challenge consisted in collectively reaching a total of three million steps in one day, a target which was comfortably met.

While receiving the cheque, the Chairman of ELA Luxembourg Jean-Paul Friedrich took the opportunity to thank the employees and managers of the BNP Paribas Group in Luxembourg for their support. The European Leukodystrophies Association (ELA), represented in Luxembourg since 2006, aims to inform and support families affected by leukodystrophies, to raise awareness among both the public and the medical community, and to help fund medical research into leukodystrophies and myelin disorders.

During the ceremony, the event sponsors Frédéric Perard, Managing Director of BNP Paribas Securities Services, Patrick Gregorius, member of the Management Board of BGL BNP Paribas and Head of Human Resources of the BNP Paribas Group in Luxembourg, and Marc Lenert, member of the Management Board of BGL BNP Paribas and Chairman of the Cercle Amical et Sportif of BNP Paribas in Luxembourg, congratulated the employees for their collective commitment to the cause.
