Deloitte appoints 15 new Partners and Managing Directors

Confident that the future is full of promise, Deloitte Luxembourg has appointed 15 new talented Partners and Managing Directors. These appointments will further accelerate the firm’s marketplace presence and strengthen its position as a leader in cornerstone industries.

Deloitte Luxembourg recently announced the appointment of its newest Partners and Managing Directors with effect from 1 December 2020.

“Talent is at the core of our strategy as we seek to shape a tomorrow for the better. It is for this reason that we are delighted to announce that 15 of our professionals have been appointed Partner or Managing Director. These current times may be challenging, but our confidence in our firm’s resilience and its ability to lead in tomorrow’s world remains steadfast,” states John Psaila, Managing Partner at Deloitte Luxembourg.

With these appointments, the firm now has 127 Partners and Managing Directors engaged in excellence on the marketplace and the leadership of the firm’s over 2,200 professionals. In addition, 23 professionals were promoted to the rank of Director, paving the way for the firm’s future success.

New Partners

Deloitte Luxembourg has appointed the following professionals to Partner:

João Almeida works within the Cross-Border Tax – Mergers and Acquisitions team and has more than 16 years of experience in the field. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2012 and has since been assisting clients in the infrastructure and real estate industry.      

Arnaud Bon works within the Private Equity & Real Estate (PERE) Consulting team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2016. He has been advising a number of alternative managers and asset servicers on business strategy, regulatory, operational and transformation topics. Arnaud has been supporting the firm’s PERE industry group in further strengthening its market presence within the aforementioned industries.       

Thibault Chollet works within the Private Equity & Real Estate Consulting team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2006. His expertise encompasses a range of matters, including the design of new operating models, technology strategy, enterprise architecture, as well as the management of corporate-wide technology-led transformation projects for the financial services industry with a specific focus on private markets investment management.      

Bastien Collette works within the Operational Support Consulting team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2016. He has more than 9 years of experience in anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing. He mainly assists clients in the investment management services (traditional and alternative), private banking, and trust and company service provider industries.

Maxime Heckel works within the Forensic & Anti-Money Laundering Advisory team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2006 and has 15 years of experience within the financial services industry. His work is more specifically focused on anti-financial crime advisory and technology. He has successfully navigated projects on anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing, fraud detection, and regulatory tax reporting for global financial institutions in Luxembourg and abroad. He has also designed and built several solutions and managed services for the firm.

Enrique Marchesi-Herce works within the Transfer Pricing team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2014. With more than 13 years of experience, his focus lies in the financial services sector. He advises a wide range of clients such as private equity companies, management companies, funds and banks in the design and implementation of their transfer pricing policies. Enrique is a frequent speaker at tax seminars and contributes to Deloitte Luxembourg’s publications and thought leadership on transfer pricing issues.

Bertrand Parfait works within the Risk Advisory team. He started his career with Deloitte Luxembourg in 2005 as an auditor and has worked within the Risk Advisory team since 2008. Through the years, he has developed a solid expertise in compliance, risk management, internal audit and financial audit with a focus on the banking sector. He is an expert in internal governance and has a profound knowledge of prudential matters and regulatory reporting. 

Stephane Schirrecker works within the Corporate Accounting team. He has 20 years of experience in the Grand Duchy, for over 13 of which he has been working with Deloitte Luxembourg. He began his Deloitte journey as an auditor, before moving to the Corporate Accounting team. He is a Luxembourg Chartered Accountant and provides accounting expertise and advice to private equity and multinational groups.

Harald Thul works within the Private Equity & Real Estate Audit team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2017. He is a Réviseur d’Entreprises and has over 21 years of experience in the financial and non-financial services in Luxembourg. He specializes in the audit of regulated and unregulated PERE structures reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or Luxembourg Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Lux GAAP).           

Vanessa Vandaele works within the Cross-Border Tax – Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team. She joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2008 and has over 12 years of experience advising asset managers on a wide variety of international tax matters, focusing primarily the mergers and acquisitions. Vanessa has acquired strong expertise in international and local tax matters, with a specific focus on cross-border tax advice for private equity clients.      

New Managing Directors

Deloitte Luxembourg has appointed the following individuals to Managing Director:

Valérie Goüin-Antoine works within the National Quality Risk and Security team. She joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2011 and is a Réviseur d’Entreprises with over 20 years of experience in the audit of investment funds. In addition to leading the transition of one of Deloitte Luxembourg’s flagship audit clients, she represents the firm on various committees within the audit profession, and in the Deloitte network. Furthermore, Valérie contributes significantly to the firm’s ethics, risk, reputation, and compliance agenda.          

Christelle Larcher works within the Tax Technical Center and has 20 years of tax experience. In September 2007, she joined Deloitte Luxembourg as part of the M&A tax advisory practice. Since 2012, she has been involved in the Tax Technical Center where she assists the Tax department on a wide variety of tax issues and tax audits.           

Hervé Maillot works with the Banking Industry Solutions team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2007 and has over 20 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry and Telecoms Industry. Hervé has been leading extensive transformation programs across various jurisdictions and technologies from strategy definition to design and implementation, specifically in the areas of core banking transformation where he co-leads the EMEA Temenos Centre of excellence.     

Sigo Risy works within the Private Equity & Real Estate Audit team. He joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2007 and has more than 19 years of professional experience in the manufacturing and real estate sector. He is a Réviseur d’Entreprises agréé and a German Wirtschaftsprüfer. He is responsible for Deloitte Luxembourg’s real estate valuation desk.           

Corine Watteyne works within the Tax Compliance team. She joined Deloitte Luxembourg in 2007. Initially working in the Mergers & Acquisitions team, she participated in the launch of the Tax Compliance practice in 2010, where she has been involved in a wide range of assignments on international tax services, direct income tax returns, tax reviews, and tax due diligence for multinational groups.
