ERG’s volunteers celebrate Nauryz by spreading kindness
Every year, to mark Nauryz, a major cultural holiday, the employees of Eurasian Resources Group, a leading diversified natural resources group from Kazakhstan, which is headquartered in Luxembourg, give back to their community with a ‘Month of Good Deeds’, by helping the elderly, children with special needs, orphanages and low-income families.
In 2021 over the month of March, ERG’s employees in Kazakhstan collected over 30 kilograms of plastic waste for recycling, donated 24.7 litres of blood and raised over KZT 2 million through charity fundraising campaigns.
Dr Alexander Machkevitch, Chairman of ERG’s Board of Directors, said: “ERG’s role in the development of local communities in the regions of its presence is fundamental. Our Month of Good Deeds campaign to mark Nauryz is one of the many ways in which ERG supports some of the most vulnerable groups near our operations. Now in its sixth year, this campaign demonstrates the caring and committed nature of ERG employees and I am extremely proud of their efforts. In light of the pandemic, now more than ever, it is important that businesses put social responsibility at the heart of their operations and that people come together to support each other. I am glad that we were able to nurture such a culture at ERG and continue to find innovative ways to develop it further.”
ERG’s mission is defined as follows: ‘Be the best at what we do. Drive global change whilst holding true to our values. Unlock the potential of the Earth and its people and ensure the prosperity of those who rely on us.’ In realising its mission, ERG is guided by its values: Safety, Unity, Efficiency, Development and Responsibility.
