JP Douglas-Henry appointed to DLA Piper Executive as Managing Director, Sustainability & Resilience
DLA Piper today announced that JP Douglas-Henry, former International Group Head of Litigation & Regulatory and Co-Chair of Sustainability & ESG, has been appointed to the International Executive in the newly created role of Managing Director, Sustainability & Resilience, as of 1 September.
Reporting directly to DLA Piper’s Global Co-CEO Simon Levine, JP has responsibility for coordinating and intensifying the firm’s actions across sustainability and ESG, Responsible Business & Pro Bono, Law& which encompasses the firm’s solutions that go beyond traditional legal services and Risk, driving further growth and development through a sustainability, innovation and resilience agenda.
The creation of this Executive-level role follows the formation of the firm’s sustainability and ESG steering committee in 2020, which coordinates DLA Piper’s internal and client ESG offerings, including across the pro bono practice which saw the firm recently appointed as legal provider for COP26. The role also encompasses supporting Simon Levine on the oversight and strategic direction for the firm’s Law& brand, that since its inception in 2020 has brought to market innovative solutions such as litigation funding, business advisory, asset tokenisation and AI-powered risk detection.

Succeeding JP in his former role of International Group Head of Litigation & Regulatory is Country Managing Partner for the Netherlands, Paul Hopman. JP and Paul will ensure the smooth transition of leadership for the group over the next few months, with Paul officially assuming the role on 1 November. The firm’s Sustainability & ESG Committee will continue to be led by Natasha Luther-Jones, working in close conjunction with JP in his new role.
