With a preceding career in investment banking and as an economist, he has spent the past 20 years at the forefront of innovation in the fund management industry growing, operating, and governing businesses.

He spent over a decade at Barclays Global Investors and State Street Global Advisors in senior management roles leading the development of the firms’ fund management businesses in EMEA.  During the 00’s, he was instrumental in the evolution of quantitative alternative strategies at BGI and in the launch of structured asset management products for distribution through banking networks.  He is recognised as a pioneer of the ETF market in EMEA having launched first iShares in Europe and then later the SPDR range of ETFs.

During the past decade, Vinayak has focused on alternative assets leading complex and highly successful investment programmes in special situation private equity, private credit and renewable energy.   Prior to Antwort, he was a c-suite manager (COO and then CEO) of regulated alternative investment businesses in London and Luxembourg and has a deep experience of regulation, fund operations, investments and governance.

Vinayak is a published economist with a specialisation in behavioural economics and a BSc from the London School of Economics and an MSc from London University.
