PM-International Inaugurates Second Administrative Building in Schengen
After approximately 1.5 years of construction, local political and economic representatives gathered on December 15th to celebrate the official inauguration of the second administration building of PMInternational AG in Schengen.
Founded in Germany in 1993, PM-International has been based in Schengen with its International Headquarters since 2015. Initially, 22 employees worked there; today, there are around 140. Directly opposite the main building, the new administration building provides approximately 2,000 square meters of space for an additional 95 employees, as well as modern seminar rooms. PM-International has invested around 10 million Euros in the construction.
Around 300 representatives from politics and business, including the Minister of Economy Lex Delles, the US Ambassador to Luxembourg Thomas M. Barrett, Mayor Michel Gloden of the municipality Schengen, and further mayors of the surrounding municipalities, as well as the entire staff of PM-International, were present at the ceremonial inauguration. Rolf Sorg, CEO & Founder of PM-International, expressed his pleasure: "We thank everyone who actively supported us in our construction project, especially our general contractor OBG and all the involved construction workers and companies. A special thanks to Mayor Michel Gloden and the entire municipality of Schengen, who have supported us from finding the right property and the building application, to the completion of the building. We have been growing steadily and needed more office space for quite some time. After approximately 1.5 years of construction, we are very excited to be able to move into our second administration building now."
Minister of Economy Lex Delles stated: "The fact that PM-International is investing in Schengen and the employees here shows Rolf Sorg's entrepreneurial spirit. I am delighted that PM is present here in Luxembourg and wish them all the best with for their next projects."
Michel Gloden, the Mayor of the municipality Schengen, also underlined the growing importance of the company for the municipality of Schengen: "We are very happy that PM-International is expanding here in the heart of Europe and that even more employees are coming to Schengen. We would be delighted if the history of PM in Schengen continues for a long time to come."
Indeed, the new building is a commitment to PM-International’s presence in Luxembourg and a significant step in their further expansion, which is managed from the International Headquarters in Schengen. "We are pleased to offer people here in the Greater Region job opportunities. As the next step, we plan to provide subsidized housing for our employees right here in Schengen. With this planning, we see ourselves well-prepared for the future," concludes Rolf Sorg.
