1964 marked the opening of the first Oberweis shop, but also the beginning of a true family adventure. Monique and Pit Oberweis (who, in the beginning, delivered their first orders themselves on their Vespa) very quickly won the hearts of Luxembourgers and became one of the national references in pastry-making. They were joined in 1989 by their two sons, Tom and Jeff, who, together with his wife Léa, continue to develop the family business with the same passion for the profession and common values.

Oberweis is celebrating today its 60th anniversary. The company now has eight shops in Luxembourg and one in Germany, employs 330 people and offers gourmet creations that combine quality, innovation and indulgence. Over the years, the company has continued to develop its expertise, becoming a member of the prestigious Relais Desserts International organization (bringing together the world's best pastry chefs) and official supplier to the Cour Grand-Ducale de Luxembourg.

To mark its anniversary in 2024, Oberweis will be unveiling a whole series of special actions and events to thank its teams and customers for their commitment and loyalty on a daily basis.

Colourful gourmet partnership

Maison Oberweis is teaming up exclusively with Belgian artists ROXEHA to celebrate its 60th anniversary and the art of pastry-making. For the occasion, customers and pastry lovers will be able to discover the Oberweis shops relooked with large carpets on the floor and stickers, in a joyfully colourful style and with the duo's own designs.

A colourful partnership inspired by the theme "60 years full of emotion".

From today, a limited-edition anniversary collection by ROXEHA is available in all Oberweis shops in Luxembourg. This collection includes a box of 6 chocolate bars, a mini ballotin of 6 pralines and a 40g bar of dark chocolate from the Dominican Republic.

A forward-looking family business

Bob and Louis, two of Tom Oberweis' sons, now represent the third generation within the company. They joined the family business in 2022 as Responsable Secteur and Responsable Chocolaterie respectively. Like their grandfather, father and uncle before them, they want to develop new creations that are ever more gourmet and bring in new influences, surrounded by passionate teams.
