Its remarkable performance was grounds for the acquisition. “We began in Munsbach back in 2010. Over the last four years, we've worked hard to become a subsidiary. We're pleased to see that our efforts paid off”, explains Guillaume Cuny, Managing Director of GCLUX Location SARL.

The company name now changes with the purchase. Starting in July 2014, the Luxembourg-based renting provider will be called GRENKELOCATION SARL.

The prior year's figures demonstrate the successful run. Guillaume Cuny and his team contributed to the success of the GRENKE Group with sales of EUR 4 million and around 1,000 customers. “Last year was a great one for us. We processed a good 600 renting requests in that time. This shows that we've done more than merely enter the market; we've established a foothold there”, Mr. Cuny states.

Guillaume Cuny has been working for GRENKE for 13 years now. He began in France, where he rose up the ranks to become branch leader and regional sales manager. When he was offered the chance to set up a new location in a country where GRENKE was not present at all, he jumped at it. “I had plenty of experience by that time and these opportunities don't come along every day, so I said ‘yes’ right away. GRENKE already had a good name in France, but Luxembourg was a whole new beginning”.

You have to know the market to be successful there. “The best way to do that is to talk to the specialist retail partners and customers. I hopped in my car and made the rounds, explaining our business model and our services in face-to-face meetings. This ‘being there for the partner on-site’ made a good impression and is one of our strengths today’, adds Cuny.

GRENKE is the leasing specialist for small-ticket IT. This term covers products such as PCs, notebooks, photocopiers, printers and software with relatively low purchase prices. The GRENKE Group has an international footprint and more than 900 employees.
