Dentons wins eight awards at the Europe Women in Business Law Awards 2018
Global law firm Dentons was honored with eight awards at the eighth annual Europe Women in Business Law Awards, organized by the Euromoney Legal Media Group.
Dentons was recognized as a top employer for women lawyers in several countries, receiving the awards for “Best in France”, “Best in Luxembourg” and, for the third year in a row “Best in Kazakhstan”. BASEAK, the firm which cooperates with Dentons in Turkey, was recognized as “Best in Turkey”.
Isabelle Leroux, a senior counsel in the Intellectual Property and Technology practice in Dentons’ Paris office won “Best in trade mark”. This is the second year in a row that she received this honor. She is also highly ranked by major directories such as Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500 and others.
Dentons received the award for “Best international mentoring program” for the third year in a row. The award recognizes the mentoring component of the Firm’s highly innovative EMEA senior development program, which helps develop leadership skills among high performing lawyers, who have the potential to advance to partnership. This program was also recently awarded by the Financial Times in the 2017 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards, taking home the top prize for "Managing and Developing Talent".
Dentons won the award for “Best international firm for pro bono work” in recognition of its pro bono legal advice to NGOs, which support women’s education and empowerment, as well as individual women who had been victims of violence.
Finally, Dentons was awarded “Best international law firm for minority women lawyers” in recognition for its active LGBT affinity group and its support for women in diverse groups.
“Women make up over 40% of our lawyers and more than half of our employees overall within Europe, so empowering women professionals to achieve their full potential is essential to our success as a Firm,” said Tomasz D?browski, CEO of Dentons Europe. “We are very proud of our women leaders and honored by these awards, which recognize our recent efforts to make Dentons an even more inclusive working environment.”
Winners of the Europe Women in Business Law Awards were selected based on submissions from law firms and research by editorial staff at International Financial Law Review, Managing IP, Expert Guides and International Tax Review. The awards bring together in-house and private practice lawyers to celebrate the achievements of law firms setting the standard in terms of female-friendly work practices, and women leading the field in over 30 legal practice areas across Europe.
